Frank Finney Robin

Carved robin by noted Capeville, VA carver Frank Finney. This is one of Frank's earlier carvings dating to the early 1980's. It is signed on the bottom with his signature rubber stamp that he used back then. It is in excellent condition. Length - 6", Height - 4".

Rare miniature walnut sugar chest of Virginia or Maryland origin. Excellent overall condition with original hardware (lock, keeper and hinges) and delicately turned 4" tall feet. Single dovetailed drawer with original pull. Pine and poplar secondary woods. Height - 17", Width - 17", Depth 11.5".

Gameboard

American Parcheesi gameboard that dates to the late nineteenth century. The design is primitive but very appealing. The board is made of 1/4" pine and retains it's original mustard, black, red and green painted surface. Dimensions - 20 1/2" square.

Early 20th century full body copper weathervane with original, untouched verdigris surface. It is in excellent original condition with no repairs. The custom iron display stand is included. Length - 28", Height - 19".

Boston Area Sampler

Beautifully silk on linen sampler in a period maple frame made by Sally Smith Taylor - Born 1811 in Danvers, Mass. Her immediate family to include her mother Mary Munroe - Born 1784, father Eliphalet Taylor - Born 1784 and three siblings are listed in her family history. This well executed piece with a triple alphabet, bird, and vine and flowers was probably made around 1820. Dimensions - 16 1/2 x 18 inches (sight).

Lathe turned, pine mortar and pestle with original oxidized blue painted surface. The mortar stands 8 1/2" tall and the pestle is 11" long. A nice clean, untouched piece of mid 19th century Americana most likely of New England origin.

Federal New Hampshire cherry card table with a very old, if not original, dry surface. Excellent form with two dovetailed drawers, a one piece lift top and swinging gate-leg, and legs with cross-hatched blocks over turned legs terminating in multiple ring turnings with ball feet. Mid twentieth century game wheel with original paint decorated surface. Excellent overall condition with only minor expected wear. Retains all the original pins. The flapper has been replaced which is not uncommon. Width - 29".

Cherry Washstand

American cherry washstand with a single dovetailed drawer, a gracefully scalloped dovetailed gallery, original drawer pull, and original red wash. Wonderful form, patina and size. Circa 1820 and probably of Pennsylvania or New Jersey origin. This is one of the nicest washstands we have owned. There is an old professional repair to one of the gallery sides where it had split. Height (to top of gallery) - 37", Width - 17", Depth 17".
