Southeastern Pennsylvania walnut slide lid candle or document box with desirable dry attic surface. Rectangular dovetailed case with original lock and escutcheon over a molded base. Gradually chamfered lid with three small finger catches. It is important to note the molding on the lid is carved in relief from a single piece of walnut and is not applied. Circa 1790-1810.
