Eisenhower Carving

Folk art carving of President Dwight D. Eisenhower made by Samuel Intravia (1890-1992) of East Hartford, Connecticut. Intravia was a retired owner of a commercial furniture crafting business and is known to have made two other similar carvings: one of John Kennedy and the other of Abraham Lincoln. Made of pine with original polychrome painted surface. The front of the desk is carved in relief with a significant level of detail. A newspaper article showing Intravia with his carvings accompanies the piece. Height - 20", Width - 21".
