Hudson River School Painting
Fine nineteenth century Hudson River School oil on canvas
depicting a sheep herder and his flock overlooking a bridge on
the river. There are also buildings on the horizon where the
river bends. The folky rendering has wonderful colors that draw
you into the painting, especially in the area where the sky meets
the mountains. There has been no restoration other than the touch
up of two very minor paint chips. The gold painted frame is newer.
Sight - 28" x 21".

Cowden & Wilcox Crock - Grapes
Two gallon Cowden & Wilcox crock with a cluster of eight
grapes and foliate cobalt blue decoration. Excellent condition
except for a small 1/4" rim chip above the right handle.

Tanware Flower Pot
New Geneva, PA tanware flowerpot with good bell-flower slip
decoration on both sides of the pot. There are no condition issues
with the piece other than minor roughness around the rim. A good
example of Western PA tanware. Circa 1890. Height 7 1/2".

Stahl Pottery Vase
Excellent double-handled vase made by Russell Stahl
at the Stahl Pottery in Powder Valley, PA. Dated 1952 and signed
on the bottom "By The Stahl Pottery - Clear and Sunny".
This rare piece exhibits an applied sunflower and handles, footed
base, crimped rim and incised shoulder. This piece has wonderful
form and presence. Very minor glaze flaws. Height - 9".

New York Dressing Table
19th century New York pine dressing table retaining it's original
painted surface and draw pulls. The top exhibits excellent ochre
and yellow oxide clamshell paint decoration and a beveled edge
with a black ground and gold highlights. Signed Rochester on
the backside. Expected minor paint loss and a slight canting
of the top on the front right side. Height (top of backsplash)

David Ellinger Theorem
David Ellinger (American, 1913-2003) "reward for merit"
style theorem on velvet depicting a bird on a branch with a blueberry
in it's beak. Signed D. Ellinger in lower left hand corner. Sight
- 6 3/4" x 4 3/4".

Old Tennant Church O/B
A very skillful and folky presentation of the Old Tennant
Church in Freehold, Monmouth County, New Jersey. This oil on
academy board painting which is dated 1892 (2 . 92) has wonderful
detail. You can almost read the names on the tombstones. The
Old Tennant Church was built in 1751 by Scottish Presbyterian
immigrants in the location where it still stands today. The church
has historical significance because it was used as a field hospital
during the Battle of Monmouth (War of Independence) in 1778.
The walnut frame does not appear to be original to the work but
is of the period. Size - 11 1/2 x 8 3/4" (sight).

Watercolor Theorem
Early twentieth century watercolor theorem on paper of watermelon
halves in a basket. Good crisp colors with very minor toning.
Nice samll size in original gold painted frame. Probably of Pennsylvania
origin. Sight - 13 1/2" x 8".

Mid twentieth century wool braided runner with the best warm
colors. It measures 10' 6" in length and is in excellent
condition.

Shenfelder Churn
Small stoneware churn made Daniel P. Snenfelder of Reading,
PA. The piece exhibits one of the best Shenfelder stamps you
will find and the pottery's signature drooping flower and vine
cobalt decoration. Height - 12".

A pair of nineteenth century Indian clubs in original faux
mahogany paint decorated surface with gold banding. Height -
15 1/2".

California Impressionist Painting - Angel Espoy
Oil on canvas of California lupines and poppies by Angel Espoy
- American/Spanish (1879-1963). Espoy was born in Villa Nueva,
Spain and immigrated to New York City in 1914. He moved to San
Francisco in 1914 and eventually found his way to Southern California
where he painted costal scenes until his death. This wonderful
painting remains in it's original frame. 11 1/2" x 8 1/2"
excluding frame.

Shenfelder Cream Pots
Rare small cream pots made by the Daniel P. Shenfelder pottery
of Reading, PA Circa 1880. While not stamped because of their
size, they bear the distinctive Shenfelder tulip that appears
on many larger stamped examples. Height - 5".

decoration on the red ground provides a very punchy presence
to this wonderful piece of folk art. Found in Montgomery County,

PA Miniature Blanket Chest
Miniature blanket chest with original, untouched flame grain
paint-decorated surface. This wonderful little dovetailed box
also retains it's original moldings, feet, till and hardware
(lock, keeper and butt hinges). It is made from poplar and was
found in Montgomery County, PA which is probably it's place of
origin. Width - 17", Depth - 7 1/4", Height - 8 1/2".

Jacob Hege Clock
Entirely original tall case clock made by Jacob Hege (Hagey)
of Lower Salford Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Walnut
case with mahogany veneer. Eight day Osborne movement with 13"
white painted moon phase dial. Outstanding original dry mellow
surface. Circa 1815. Height - 93" Additional photos upon

Redware bird on a pedestal by James Christian Seagreaves (1913-1997
of Breinigsville, Lehigh County, PA. Seagreaves was known for
his unique interpretation of PA German symbols that he skillfully
incorporated into his whimsical redware and ceramic forms. The
piece is signed JCS on the bottom. Circa 1980. Height 7 1/2".

in original green painted surface. While there is very minor

West Point NY Oil Painting
Unsigned 19th century Hudson River School oil on board with
a wonderful primitive folk quality. The painting depicts a scenic
bend on the Hudson near West Point that includes three hunters
in the foreground with their prey, two hunters with their dog,
a canoe with figures and a church in the distance. Circa 1850.
Sight dimensions - 16" x 13".

PA Paint Decorated Woodbox
Lancaster County, PA grain painted woodbox with triple "God's
Eye" decoration on the front panel. Square nail construction.
Scalloped skirt and bracket feet provide wonderful form for this
piece. Minor losses to top. Length - 61 1/2", Height - 20",
Depth - 17 11/2".

Cherry Corner Cupboard
Two part Pennsylvania figured cherry corner cupboard of Lehigh
County origin. Nicely proportioned cornice over a 12-lite door
over a base with two doors and a gracefully scalloped skirt.
Refinished. Circa 1840. Height - 88". Takes a 28 1/2"
corner.

PA Decorated Blanket Chest
Circa 1840 York County blanket chest with vibrant, original
sponge painted decoration. This piece exhibits a dovetailed case,
black turned feet and black accents, an interior till and it's
original lock. It is made of poplar and retains 99% of it's original
paint - including the top. This is a nice clean chest with terrific
paint and no restorations. Length - 42" Height - 25",
Depth - 20 1/2".

Pennsylvania or New Jersey six drawer cherry chest with a
dovetailed case, overlapping drawers, bracket feet and the best
original dry surface. Drawer pulls have been replaced. Circa

Late 19th century running horse weathervane with excellent
form and original, untouched verdigris surface. There is a minor
separation 1/2" in length on the forehead. No restorations

Double Spin Game Wheel
Large mid 20th century double spin game wheel in original
polychrome painted surface. Game wheels in this form, color and
condition are relatively rare. Both wheels spin freely as designed.
There are two missing pins on the larger wheel. Large wheel width
- 36", Small wheel width - 24".
