Egg Basket

Pennsylvania splint oak egg basket with excellent oval form in original green painted surface. While there is very minor wear to the paint where you would expect to see it, there are is no damage to the basket or the bent wood handle.
Height - 12", Length - 14".

Windsor Stool

Windsor stool with strong remnants of original dry blue painted surface and legs mortised through the top. Width - 15", Height - 12", Depth - 7".

Spongware Milk Pitcher

Blue spongeware milk pitcher with smoke ring decoration. Circa 1880. Height 9". Photo 2643.

Tanware Pitcher

Rare and wonderfully small Western PA tanware pitcher in excellent condition. Late 19th century. Height - 6".

Spongeware Flower Pot

Blue sponge decorated flower pot. Circa 1890. Minor rim chip. Height - 5 1/2".

Black Duck Decoy

Black duck decoy from the rig of Samuel Gale of Tuckerton, NJ in original working painted surface. Circa 1900. Minor surface imperfections commensurate with decoy's age and use do not detract from the aesthetic appeal of this piece.

Mallard Decoys

A wonderful pair of mallard decoys attributed to Albert Scott of Mendminee Falls, Wisconson in soft hunting paint. The paint and patina on this pair are in excellent overall condition. Circa 1950.

Seagraves Redware Bird

Folky redware bird made by James Christian Seagraves (1913-1997) of Breiningsville, Lehigh County, PA. Seagraves is known for his wonderful and unique interpretation of Pennsylvania German symbols that he skillfully incorporated into his whimsical forms. The piece is signed on the bottom JCS and VAS; VAS are the initials of his wife Verna who most likely painted the bird prior to firing. It is uncommon to see both sets of initials on a piece of Seagraves redware. Circa 1985-90. Height - 6".

Seagraves Redware Bird

Indian Clubs

Pair of nineteenth century Indian clubs in original, dry faux mahogany paint decorated surface with gold banding. Height - 16 1/2".

West Point NY Oil Painting

Unsigned 19th century Hudson River School oil on board with a wonderful primitive folk quality. The painting depicts a scenic bend on the Hudson near West Point that includes three hunters in the foreground with their prey, two hunters with their dog, a canoe with figures and a church in the distance. Circa 1850.
Sight dimensions - 16" x 13".

PA Paint Decorated Woodbox

Lancaster County, PA grain painted woodbox with triple "God's Eye" decoration on the front panel. Square nail construction. Scalloped skirt and bracket feet provide wonderful form for this piece. Minor losses to top. Length - 61 1/2", Height - 20", Depth - 17 11/2".

PA Paint Decorated Woodbox

Dovetailed woodbox found in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania with original dry, grain-painted surface. One piece lid, shoe feet and applied molding to the base. Minor losses to painted surface of lid. Circa 1860. Length - 60", Height - 18", Depth - 18".

Cherry Corner Cupboard

Two part Pennsylvania figured cherry corner cupboard of Lehigh County origin. Nicely proportioned cornice over a 12-lite door over a base with two doors and a gracefully scalloped skirt. Refinished. Circa 1840. Height - 88". Takes a 28 1/2" corner.

PA Decorated Blanket Chest

Circa 1840 York County blanket chest with vibrant, original sponge painted decoration. This piece exhibits a dovetailed case, black turned feet and black accents, an interior till and it's original lock. It is made of poplar and retains 99% of it's original paint - including the top. This is a nice clean chest with terrific paint and no restorations. Length - 42" Height - 25", Depth - 20 1/2".

Cherry Chest of Drawers

Pennsylvania or New Jersey six drawer cherry chest with a dovetailed case, overlapping drawers, bracket feet and the best original dry surface. Drawer pulls have been replaced. Circa 1820. Height - 52 1/2", Width - 40", Depth - 18".

Cherry Drop-leaf Table

Cherry drop-leaf table with gracefully tapered legs and original untouched dry surface. Height - 29", Length - 42", Width - 24" (38" with leaves extended).

Miniature Walnut Blanket Chest

Circa 1870 miniature walnut balnket chest with a fine dovetailed case and feet. Original hardware and glue blocks. The piece was made without a till.

Miniature Yelloware Mocha Creamer

Yelloware mocha creamer with ribbed handle and footed base in a rare small size. Circa 1850. Height - 3".

Running Horse Weathervane

Late 19th century running horse weathervane with excellent form and original, untouched verdigris surface. There is a minor separation 1/2" in length on the forehead. No restorations or repairs. Height - 23", Length - 29", Height with stand - 23".

Double Spin Game Wheel

Large mid 20th century double spin game wheel in original polychrome painted surface. Game wheels in this form, color and condition are relatively rare. Both wheels spin freely as designed. There are two missing pins on the larger wheel. Large wheel width - 36", Small wheel width - 24".

Kentucky Folk Art Trencher

Wonderful large wooden trencher decorated with a painted fish (appears to be a bass) on the interior surface. This piece originates from Calhoun County, Kentucky. On the one handle there is a carved date of 1904. On the other handle there is the word Calhoun. The carving on the perimeter indicates the fish was caught on the Green River on September 7. It appears the carver named the fish "Emma". This is a rare piece of Kentucky folk art. Length - 17", Width - 10", Height - 4".

Shenfelder Cream Pot

One gallon stoneware cream pot with good blue flower attributed to D.P. Shenfelder of Reading, PA. Height -8".

PA Tanware Flower Pot

Large New Geneva or Greensboro Pennsylvania tanware flower pot in excellent original condition. Circa 1880-90. Height - 8"

Carved Dolls

Wonderful matched pair of late 19th century American carved dolls in polychrome paint and original cotton clothing. These dolls are in as found condition and are made of wood with a composition surface on the legs and feet. The detail in the facial carving is well done yet very folky. Note the attached cane on the male and the petticoat on the female. There is a minor composition loss to one of the feet on each of the dolls. Length - 9 1/2".



1862 Lehigh County Fraktur

Relatively rare hand drawn watercolor birth and baptismal certificate in the format of a commercially printed document of the time. From Lowhill Township, Lehigh County in North America, the document lists David and Carolina Long as the parents of daughter Seibert. Also lists grandparents as baptismal sponsors and includes a devotional poem. Dated 6, November 1862. Eagle, angles and birds in crisp polychrome colors. Professionally mounted in birds-eye maple frame with acid-free backing.
16 1/2 X 13 1/2.

Camden NJ Shipping Box

Camden, NJ dovetailed shipping box in original blue paint with Company stencil, ISAAC B. HATCH, painted on the front and on the underside of the lid. This piece was recently purchased from a private Washington's Crossing, PA collection. It is in excellent original condition and has a very punchy look as a result of the contrast between the blue ground and the black stenciling. Width - 24", Depth - 17 1/2", Height -16".
