Painted Jelly Cupboard

Pennsylvania jelly cupboard with a later yellow oxide painted surface over the original red paint. Two dovetailed drawers over two doors with a dovetailed backsplash. Circa 1860. Height - 48". Width - 42", Depth - 18".

Folk Art Twig Stand

Late 19th century twig stand with a heart and horseshoe on the base section. Original untouched surface with remnants of blue paint. The top is perfectly level and would be perfect for displaying a whirligig or weathervane. Height - 28", Top - 20" x 15".

NE Paint Decorated Chest

New England Hepplewhite five drawer chest with French feet, scalloped skirt and original burnt umber and ochre paint decorated surface. Over-lapping drawers with replaced period brasses. No other replacements. This piece exhibits excellent form and paint decoration. Circa 1790. Height - 48", Width - 38", Depth - 18".

Rupp Paint Decorated Chest

Pine chest of drawers attributed to John Rupp of Hanover, PA. Vibrant original black and reddish-brown faux birdseye maple paint decoration with Rupp's signature white porcelain drawer pulls. I have seen many faux mahogany decorated pieces by Rupp but this is only the second faux birdseye maple piece I have ever seen. The painted surface is in excellent condition showing only very minor as expected wear. Circa 1880. Height - 49", Width - 41", Depth - 22".

Philadelphia Windsor Chair

Unmarked Philadelphia bowback Windsor armchair with the best early red painted surface over the original dark green. This chair exhibits excellent form as evidenced by the shaped seat and bold reverse curves on the arms and arm supports. Circa 1785-1800. The crest rail is either hickory or oak; the spindles, arm supports, legs and stretchers are maple; and the seat is poplar. Expected wear to legs. Reference The Windsor Style in America by Charles Santore, Vol I, page 124 and Vol II, pages 120 and 121 for similar examples.

Paint Decorated Blanket Chest

Paint decorated blanket chest from Lancaster County, Pa. in original vibrant flame feather graining. Circa 1850. The nicely proportioned chest is made of softwood with a dovetailed case, an interior till and original grabber lock and turned feet. Length - 39 1/2", Height - 25", Width - 19".

PA Cherry Slantfront Desk

Pennsylvania Federal cherry slantfront desk with a dovetailed case, four graduated drawers, a fitted interior and French feet. Drawers have line inlay around the perimeter in the form of a cartouche. The cartouche inlay is repeated on the desk lid along with a two-handled urn. Circa 1810. Refinished with replaced brasses. Height - 42", Width - 43", Depth - 21".

Chippendale Walnut Chest

18th century walnut Chippendale chest with three over four graduated over-lapping drawers and ogee bracket feet. Dovetailed case with good figuring on the drawer fronts. Replaced brasses and restoration to the feet and one drawer lip. Refinished. Height - 43 1/2", Width - 39", Depth 21".

Federal Walnut Tall Chest

Circa 1800 Berks County, PA tall chest with old refinish and truly outstanding form. The piece exhibits a dovetailed case, a flat cove molded cornice, chamfered quarter columns, graduated overlapping drawers with thumbnail molding and 9 1/2" tall french feet. The figured walnut on the three over five drawer fronts demands your attention. Poplar secondary wood. Replaced brasses.

Pennsylvania Windsor Youth Chair

Rare PA arrowback windsor youth arm chair with original "in the black" varnished surface. Excellent form and appropriate wear on the arms and front stretcher. No repairs or restorations. Circa 1840. Chair Height - 33", Seat Height - 16 1/2", Seat - 15 x 14 1/2".

NE Paint Decorated Box

Fairly large New England pine box with black smoke decoration on a yellow ground. Square nailed construction with original hardware. This would be a nice base piece for a stack of paint decorated boxes or it could be used as a small coffee or end table. Width - 28", Depth - 17", Height - 16".

NE Paint Decorated Shelf

Mid-nineteenth century New England pine hanging shelf with brown and black paint decoration. The paint appears to date to around the turn of the century. Square nail construction with wonderful scalloped sides and plate grooves on each shelf. This piece is an excellent size for the display of smalls. Height - 36", Width - 25". The shelf's are 8, 7 and 6" in depth.

Chester County, Pennsylvania walnut work table with splayed legs, a single dovetailed drawer and a desirable overhang. Original dry grunge finish. Circa 1850.
