John Holloway Decoys
Matched pair of Pintails carved and painted by John Holloway
of Parkertown, NJ. John is a well known carver who has won many
awards and is highlighted in Loy S. Harrell's book Sixty Living
and Outstanding North American Carvers. The pair are in excellent

Wilbert Brant Decoy
Brant decoy in a "preening pose" made by Charlie
Wilbert of Island Beach, NJ. This bird retains it's original
painted surface and is stamped on the bottom with Charlie's signature
CW. It dates to the 1950's. Charlie passed on about 15 years
ago. Length - 17 1/2".

Delaware River Scaup
Delaware River Scaup or Bluebill drake in original working
paint and in very good condition. As indicated on the bottom,
this decoy originated in Bordentown, NJ and was from a rig owned
by B. Colby. Note the position of the weight in the rear of the
bird which allowed it to sit up in swift river current. Circa
1940. Length - 14".

New Jersey Blackduck
Blackduck hen made by Eugene Hendrickson (1896-1971) of Northfield,
NJ. This decoy retains it's original scratch coat paint with
remnants of cork flocking over-paint. The scratch paint, inletted
weight, blocky tail and tack eyes are signature Hendrickson features.
Circa 1920-30. Length - 16".

Owl Tree
Rare and wonderful contemporary owl tree carved by John Holloway
of Parkertown, NJ. This is an excellent example of John's carving
and decorating ability. John is in his seventies and has been
a decoy carver most of his life. He started making bird trees
about eight years ago and only recently has made a very limited
number of owl trees. He is listed in Loy Harrell Jr's book "Sixty
Living and Outstanding North American Carvers". Height -

Double-Sided Mahogany Cake Board
Rare double-sided mahogany cake board of American origin,
possibly by John Congor or one of his contemporary. This is one
of the smallest cake boards we have seen at 7 1/2" x 6".
There is a wonderfully executed horse on one side and a nest
of birds with leaves on the reverse. The piece retains an excellent
dry, original surface and the initials FLB carved on the edge.

California Impressionist Painting - Angel Espoy
Oil on canvas of California lupines and poppies by Angel Espoy
- American/Spanish (1879-1963). Espoy was born in Villa Nueva,
Spain and immigrated to New York City in 1914. He moved to San
Francisco in 1914 and eventually found his way to Southern California
where he painted costal scenes until his death. This wonderful
painting remains in it's original frame. 11 1/2" x 8 1/2"
excluding frame.

Very folky Pennsylvania walnut trinket box with wonderful
inlaid hearts, diamonds, stars and circles made of maple, oak
and ash. The front of the box has the inlaid initials J. T. S.
Note the PA German backwards S. Lock and two original dividers

Native American Elm Burl Bowl
Large Native American elm burl bowl from the Eastern Great
Lakes region, possibly made by the Ojibwa tribe. The bowl dates
to the 1720-1750 period and exhibits a wonderful flared form
and a surface that speaks to it's age. This rare Native American
piece is in pristine overall condition. Length (at the top) -
18", Width (at the top) - 13". Height - 6".

Early 20th century tool carrier with flared sides in original
polychrome painted surface. Found in Michigan, this folky design
was most likely personalized by the owner with the initial "F".

Late 19th or early 20th century wall box with an excellent
original polychrome painted surface. The combination of the blue
decoration on the red ground provides a very punchy presence
to this wonderful piece of folk art. Found in Montgomery County,

Ellinger Still Life Study
Pencil and crayon still-life study by David Y. Ellinger entitled
"Cocks Comb and Coleus". The piece is signed D. Ellinger
in the bottom right hand corner and on the back with his signature
looping heart. The inscription on the back reads "To John
- all Best Success and Wishes. D.Y. Ellinger. This is clearly
a one of a kind work by Ellinger in it's original black and green
paint decorated frame. 8 x 11".

green and yellow block lettering on a dark red ground with a

Lathe turned from single piece of wood with hundreds of "diamond
cuts" and remnants of chrome yellow/green paint. Stem of
pear is paint grained in wavy pattern.
